Naturalley there is more to the fish stroy than that. The first big one that I hooked got away! I hooked a nice one and the pole bent over to the water and the line was smoking it was coming out so fast. I tried to reel it in but could not budge it. Needles to say the monster fish took a lunge and broke the 100 pound test line.
Well new pole, new bait and I was ready for the next one. This time I hooked him and the pole only bent over to almost the waters edge! Let me tell you though he pulled! I had to give it all I had to reel that one in but as you can see from the photo I got him into the boat. We didn't keep him as jewfish are a protected species. I understand that they do taste delicous. We did catch several gruopers and snappers that we took home for dinner and there is nothing like fresh fish!
Oh did I forget to tell you about the third big one that I hooked? It seems a freind who had joined us had his line down and asked me to hold it for him. Naturally I did. Being the fisher that I am hooked another monster. Unfortuanetly they just don't make a line strong enough for the fish I hook...
